Why many digital projects start at the end
What happens when you choose the tool before defining the problem?
You may build something well that was never needed. A new website cannot fix an offer people do not understand, and automation cannot compensate for a poorly designed process. Sometimes the conclusion is that another website is needed when the real problem is the offer, customer service or a lack of demand.
That is why our first question is never which technology to use. It is what your business needs to move forward.
Seven phases, one thread: Código Palanca
What is Código Palanca?
It is our way of working. It connects each client’s reality with what gets built, so brand, website, customer acquisition and engineering do not each move in a different direction. Its main influence is Lean Startup: working with hypotheses and testing them.
The seven phases
- Diagnosis. Understand what you sell, who buys it, what hurts and what cannot change.
- Positioning. Decide who your offer is for and why they should choose it.
- Strategy. Set priorities: what comes first, what can wait and what will not be done now.
- Customer acquisition. Design how customers will find you and what they need to see.
- Building. Create the solution that fits the problem.
- Prelaunch testing and security. Reduce errors and risks before exposing the solution.
- Launch and growth. Put it to use, observe and learn.
Why does customer acquisition come before building?
Because it helps to know how customers will arrive before deciding what to build. That does not mean sending campaign traffic to an unfinished website. It means designing the journey from the start: where people discover you, what they need to know, what evidence builds trust and what comes next.
How much method does your project need?
Is all of this necessary for a simple website?
Not at the same depth. For a quick website, the method may amount to a short brief, a structure, a main message and a contact channel. A custom project needs more discovery. What stays the same is the decision-making approach, not the number of meetings.
What does the method not promise?
It does not promise a return calculated in advance or require you to buy every service we offer. It helps you make informed decisions, explain each choice and recognize when something is not working.
What do we do after building?
How do we know whether it worked?
By comparing results with the starting point agreed during diagnosis. We also record what changes around the project: the offer, budget, season or team. We do not attribute every improvement to the website or every setback to the competition.
How it connects with the rest of Calicata
The same method applies, at different depths, to everything we do: a first website, a custom WordPress website, custom development, complete Rust applications, blockchain applied to business processes, systems engineering, SaaS development, the total cost of automation, brand and maintenance. (Each service links to the main article in its category, in that order.)
